Graphic designers should be able to draw…no matter what someone tells you. For this assignment, students were required to draw anything of their choice that had clean lines in simple black and white. They then scanned the image and converted it to a vector graphic in Illustrator to use the LivePaint tool.

Nichole created the full page sketch (shown below) and scanned it in at 300ppi. After converting it to a vector graphic she was able to come up with a few different color schemes and finally decide on this one. Definitely not something she would have been able to do had she been coloring this with markers or another physical medium.
